Yash, actor from National School of Drama, New Delhi bags Award at International Festival

Yashvanth (Yash Shetty) a second year student from National School of Drama, New Delhi won an award for best actor at a theatre festival in China.

SAMPADA-the Inheritance by National School of Drama (India) was staged at the Asia Theatre Education Centre (ATEC) 7th International Forum with the 2nd Asian Theatre Schools Festival held during May 18-23, 2012.

The scholars from 33 theatre schools and departments presented their papers on the topic “Theatre-Globalization and Localization”. Meanwhile 11 theatres were presented during the Theatre School Festival from May 18 to 22. Lliu Libin, Deputy Director of ATEC and Chair of the Executive Committee of the Academy hosted the ceremony.

Come and Play Scheme

Mr. Ajay Maken , Union Minister  of State (I/C) for Youth Affairs & Sports  visited  various stadia of Sports Authority of India ( SAI) to see the arrangements  for fresh registration  of children under the “ Come & Play” Scheme , which  has been started  last week.  In addition ,  Mr. Maken also distributed the Medals & Certificates to the winners of competitions organized under the Scheme  from 5^th to 15^th May , 2012  in respective sports discipline at  JN Stadium and Dr SP Mukherjee Swimming Pool complex . Mr. Maken went around the various fields of play and interacted with the children playing under the aforesaid Scheme.

Anniversary of Martyrdom of Rajiv Gandhi,

The Minister of State for Railways, Mr. K.H. Muniyappa paid floral tributes at Rajiv Gandhi Memorial, on the occasion of the 21st Anniversary of Martyrdom of the former Prime Minister, Late Shri Rajiv Gandhi, in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu on May 21, 2012. The Minister also went around the DAVP exhibition, at Rajiv Gandhi Memorial, on the occasion.

Priyam and Shivani perform Bharatanatyam

Bharatanatyam arangettram of Priyam Sarpal and Shivani Amin was organised by Nritya Abhinaya at New Delhi on May 19, 2012. The disciples of Guru Usha Rao commenced their first stage performance with Pushpanjali in Adi Talam on Karnatakadevagandhari ragam.

The debut of these two talented youngesters continued with Alaripu in chatusra ekam talam, jathiswaram in tisra ekam, ammaludan in adi tisra gali talam and varnam in adi talam in karaharapriya raga. The performance reached another level when these two dancers performed for Meera bhajan jo tum todo piya in adi talam, sindhu bhairavi raga.The continued to perform Shiva Shakti, chaliya and Tillana before concluding the show. 

Guru Usha Rao helped in Nattuvangam. Vocal by S. Sathyanarayanan, Mridangam by S. Shankar, Flute by G. Raghuraman and Violin by Kalaimamani VSK Chakrapani was also highlight of the performance. R. Suchitra compered the programme.

Proud parents Rekha and Naveen Sarpal as well as Malathi and Ganesh Amin felicitated the Guru and musicians. 

A 11th standard student of Delhi Public School, Dwarka, New Delhi Priyam was learning the classical dance since she was five years of age. She holds senior diploma in Prayag Sangit Samiti, Allahabad.

Shivani also with a senior diploma in Bharatanatyam from Prayag Sangit Samiti, Allahabad is a class 12 student at Hans Raj Model School, Punjabi Bagh, New Delhi.   

Guru Usha Rao is the torchbearer of a unique tradition of legendary Pandanallur Chinnayya Pillai, where she has been trained in Bharatanatyam.

ನವದೆಹಲಿಯ ದೆಹಲಿ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸಂಘದ ಸಭಾಂಗಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೇ ೬ರಂದು ಸಂಗೀತ, ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಅಭಿನಂದನಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳ ಅಪೂರ್ವ ಸಂಜೆಯೊಂದನ್ನು ದೆಹಲಿ ಮಿತ್ರ ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಸಂಘಟನೆ ಹಮ್ಮಿಕೊಂಡಿತ್ತು.
ಪುಸ್ತಕ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ:

ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾರತ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಪತ್ರಾಗಾರ, ನವದೆಹಲಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪತ್ರಾಗಾರ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳಾದ ಡಾ|| ಜಿ.ಎ. ಬಿರಾದಾರ ಅವರು ಬರೆದ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಭೂಷಣ ಶ್ರೀನಿವಾಸರಾವ ಕೌಜಲಗಿ ಎಂಬ ಕೃತಿಯನ್ನು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಮಾಜಿ ಸಚಿವರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಎಚ್.ಕೆ. ಪಾಟೀಲ ಅವರು ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಗೊಳಿಸಿದರು.  ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯ ಪೂರ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಪ್ರದೇಶ ಕಾಂಗ್ರೇಸ್ ಕಮೀಟಿ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾಗಿದ್ದ ಶ್ರೀನಿವಾಸರಾವ ಕೌಜಲಗಿಯವರು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಏಕೀಕರಣದ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠ ಹೋರಾಟಗಾರರಾಗಿದ್ದರು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾ, ಅಂದಿನ ಮುಂಬಯಿ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಬ್ರಾಹ್ಮಣ-ಬ್ರಾಹ್ಮಣೇತರ ಭಿನ್ನಾಭಿಪ್ರಾಯ ಗಳನ್ನು ನಿವಾರಿಸಿ ಬ್ರಾಹ್ಮಣೇತರ ವರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಮಾಜ ಸುಧಾರಣೆಯ ಮಹತ್ವವನ್ನು ಮನವರಿಕೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಕೌಜಲಗಿ ಅವರಂತಹವರು ಇತಿಹಾಸ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿದ್ದನ್ನು ದಾಖಲಿಸಿದ ಅಪೂರ್ವ ಪುಸ್ತಕ ಇದಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಈ ಕೃತಿಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಅಪಾರ ಮೆಚ್ಚುಗೆ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸುತ್ತಾ, ಇದರ ಪ್ರಕಾಶಕರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಗಣೇಶ್ ಅವರನ್ನು ಅಭಿನಂದಿಸಿದರು. ಜೊತೆಗೆ, ಶುದ್ಧ ಉತ್ತರ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಶೈಲಿಯ ಭಾಷಾ ಬಳಕೆ ಈ ಕೃತಿಯ ವಿಶೇಷತೆ ಎಂದು ನುಡಿದರು.
ತಮ್ಮ ಕೃತಿ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಗೊಂಡ ಸಂತಸವನ್ನು ಹಂಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾ ಸಂಶೋಧಕ, ಲೇಖಕ ಡಾ|| ಜಿ.ಎ. ಬಿರಾದಾರ ಅವರು ಮುಖ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ಆಗಮಿಸಿದವರಿಗೆ, ವೇದಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಗಣ್ಯರಿಗೆ, ಪ್ರಕಾಶಕ ಶ್ರೀ ಗಣೇಶ್ ಅವರಿಗೆ ವಂದಿಸಿದರು. ಎರಡು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಹಿಂದೆ ಇದೇ ವೇದಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಮ್ಮದೇ ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಪುಸ್ತಕ ಮುಂಬಯಿ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಸವಿನಯ ಕಾನೂನು ಭಂಗ ಚಳವಳಿಯ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಗೆ ಕಾರಣರಾದ ದೆಹಲಿ ಮಿತ್ರದ ವಸಂತ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ ಬೆಳ್ಳಾರೆಯವರಿಗೂ ವಂದಿಸಿದರು.
ಶ್ರೀ ಜಯಪ್ರಕಾಶ್ ಹೆಗ್ಡೆ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಅಭಿನಂದನೆ:

ಉಡುಪಿ-ಚಿಕ್ಕಮಗಳೂರು ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ನೂತನವಾಗಿ ಚುನಾಯಿತಗೊಂಡ ಸಂಸದ, ಸನ್ಮಾನ್ಯ ಶ್ರೀ ಜಯಪ್ರಕಾಶ ಹೆಗ್ಡೆ ಅವರನ್ನು ಆತ್ಮೀಯವಾಗಿ ಸನ್ಮಾನಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಸನ್ಮಾನ ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಹೆಗ್ಡೆ ಅವರು ದೆಹಲಿ ಮಿತ್ರ ಹಮ್ಮಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕನ್ನಡಪರ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹಿಸುವ ಭರವಸೆಯಿತ್ತರು. ಜಾನಪದ ವಿದ್ವಾಂಸ, ಶ್ರೀ ಪುರುಷೋತ್ತಮ ಬಿಳಿಮಲೆಯವರೂ ಸಹ ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಲ್ಗೊಂಡು ಶುಭಕೋರಿದರು.
ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆ ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದ ರಾಜ್ಯಸಭಾ ಸದಸ್ಯರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಆಸ್ಕರ್ ಫರ್ನಾಂಡಿಸ್ ಅವರು ಉತ್ಸಾಹದಿಂದ ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಲ್ಗೊಂಡು, ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರದ ರಾಜಧಾನಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಲವಾರು ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ದೆಹಲಿ ಮಿತ್ರ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯು ಇದರ ಸಂಚಾಲಕರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ವಸಂತ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ ಬೆಳ್ಳಾರೆಯವರ ನೇತೃತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಅನೇಕ ಅನುಕರಣೀಯ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ-ಸಾಂಸ್ಕ್ರತಿಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಹಮ್ಮಿಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದಿದೆ ಎನ್ನುತ್ತಾ ಕಾಲಾವಕಾಶ ಒದಗಿದಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಂದೊಂದು ದಿನ ಯಕ್ಷಗಾನ ವೇಷ ಕಟ್ಟುವ ಆಶಯವನ್ನೂ ತೋಡಿಕೊಂಡರು.
ಸಂಗೀತ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ:

ಕನ್ನಡ ನಾಡಿನ ಖ್ಯಾತ ಗಾಯಕಿ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಬಿ.ಕೆ. ಸುಮಿತ್ರ ಅವರಿಂದ ತರಬೇತಿ ಪಡೆದ ದೆಹಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರು ಮತ್ತು ದೆಹಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ಶಾಲೆಯ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಸುಮಾರು ಎರಡು ಗಂಟೆಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಸುಶ್ರಾವ್ಯವಾದ ಸಂಗೀತ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ನೀಡಿ, ಸಭಾಂಗಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಿಕ್ಕಿರಿದು ನೆರೆದಿದ್ದ ಸಭಿಕರ ಮನರಂಜಿಸಿದರು. ನೂರಕ್ಕೂ ಮಿಗಿಲಾದ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಕಲಾವಿದರನ್ನು, ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಒಂದೇ ವೇದಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಲೆಹಾಕಿ ಅದ್ಭುತ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ನೀಡುವ ಅವಕಾಶ ದೊರೆತದ್ದಕ್ಕೆ ದೆಹಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರು ಅಪಾರ ಹರ್ಷ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು. ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಶ್ರೀ ಎನ್.ಪಿ. ಚಂದ್ರಶೇಖರ ಅವರು ಅಚ್ಚುಕಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ನಿರೂಪಣೆ ಮಾಡಿದರು. ಶ್ರೀ ವೈ.ಅವನಿಂದ್ರನಾಥ ರಾವ್ ಅವರು ವಂದನಾರ್ಪಣೆ ಮಾಡಿದರು.  ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ವೈವಿಧ್ಯಮಯ ತಿಂಡಿ-ತಿನಿಸುಗಳ ಭೋಜನದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಅಪೂರ್ವ ಸಂಜೆ ಮುಕ್ತಾಯವಾಯಿತು.

ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಬಿ.ಎಂ.ಶ್ರೀ. ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಾನವು ಹಿರಿಯ ಸಾಹಿತಿ ದಿ. ಸಮೇತನಹಳ್ಳಿ ರಾಮರಾಯ ಕೃತಿಗಳ ವಿಮರ್ಶೆಗೆ ನೀಡುವ ’ರಾಸ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ದತ್ತಿ ನಿಧಿ ಬಹುಮಾನ’ ವನ್ನು ದೆಹಲಿಯ ಲೇಖಕ ವೈ. ಅವನೀಂದ್ರನಾಥ್ ರಾವ್ ಅವರಿಗೆ ನೀಡಿದೆ. ಅವನೀಂದ್ರನಾಥ್ ಬರೆದ ’ಸಮೇತನಹಳ್ಳಿಯವರ ’ಗಣೇಶ’ ನಾಟಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾರತೀಯ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಯ ಅನಾವರಣ’ ಎಂಬ ವಿಮರ್ಶಾ ಪ್ರಬಂಧಕ್ಕೆ ಈ ಪುರಸ್ಕಾರ ಲಭಿಸಿದೆ. ಇದೇ  ಎಪ್ರಿಲ್ 18 ರಂದು ನಡೆದ ಸಮಾರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನೀಂದ್ರನಾಥ್ ಅವರು 2011ನೇ ಸಾಲಿನ ಪುರಸ್ಕಾರವನ್ನು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಅಕಾಡೆಮಿಯ ಮಾಜಿ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಹಾಗೂ ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಾನದ ಗೌರವಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಪ್ರೊ. ಎಂ.ಎಚ್. ಕೃಷ್ಣಯ್ಯ ಅವರಿಂದ ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಿದರು.
ಪ್ರೊ. ಕೃಷ್ಣಯ್ಯ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ’ಶಾಸನ ಪ್ರಿಯರಾಗಿದ್ದ ರಾಮರಾಯರ ಕೃತಿಗಳ ಅಧ್ಯಯನ ವಿಮರ್ಶಕರಿಗೆ ಒಂದು ಸವಾಲು’ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.
ಆರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಿರಿಯ ಕವಿ. ಪ್ರೊ. ಜಿ.ಎಸ್. ಸಿದ್ಧಲಿಂಗಯ್ಯ ಅವರಿಂದ ತೀ.ನಂ.ಶ್ರೀ. ದತ್ತಿ ಉಪನ್ಯಾಸ ನಡೆಯಿತು. ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಾನದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಪ್ರೊ. ಡಿ. ಲಿಂಗಯ್ಯ, ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ಎಸ್.ವಿ. ಶ್ರೀನಿವಾಸ ರಾವ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಾಹಿತಿ ಡಿ.ಎಸ್. ನಾಗಭೂಷಣ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು.
