The 32nd edition of the India International Trade Fair was inaugurated by Hon’ble
President of India, Mr. Pranab Mukherjee on November 14, 2012 at Hamsadhwani Theatre, Pragati Maidan, and New Delhi.
His Excellency, Prime Minister of Belarus, Mr. Mikhail V. Myasnikovich was the ‘Guest
of Honour’ at the ceremony. Her Excellency Deputy Trade & Industry Minister of South
Africa, Ms. Elizabeth Thabethe also graced the occasion.
The Republic of Belarus has been accorded the ‘Partner Country’ Status while South
Africa is the ‘Focus Country’ at the fair.
This year, the theme of the fair is ‘Skilling India’ projecting the performance of the Central and State Ministries, Departments and private sectors in the related fields. The theme display are at Hall No. 1- foyer, highlighting different aspects for continuous upgrading of skills and globally recognised qualifications for youth to achieve employment and ensure India’s competitiveness in the international market.
EXHIBITION
Over 6000 Exhibitors from India and abroad are taking part in this edition of IITF.
Overseas participation is from Afghanistan, Bangladesh , Canada, China, Cuba, Czech
Republic, Egypt, Ghana, Hong Kong, Iran, Indonesia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Republic of Belarus, Russia, South Africa, Thailand, Turkey, UAE and Vietnam.
BUSINESS DAYS
The first five days of the fair viz. November 14-18, 2012, are restricted to business visitors only. An International Business Visitors Lounge (IBVL) at Gate No.1 will be functioning for providing facilitation services to overseas trade delegations visiting the fair under the aegis of trade associations and other recognized nodal business groups.
CULTURAL EVENTS
Added attractions to the visitors are the State Days celebrations at Hamsadhwani and Lal Chowk theatres, music and dance recitals of classical and semi classical genre at
Shakuntalam and Geet, Gazal, Qawaalees at Falaknuma Theatres, Street Plays at Itihask
Chowk, Puppet Shows at Food Court Theatre .
FAIR TIMINGS
IITF 2012 will remain open for the visitors from 9.30 a.m. to 7.30 p.m., on all days during
November 14-27, 2012.
TICKET PRICES
Ticket for business days visitor (November 14-18) will be Rs. 400/, while the general visitor during November 19-27, will be charged Rs.50/- (Adult) and Rs.30/-(Child) on working day and Rs.80/- and 50/- respectively on weekends and holidays. Visitor’s entry into Pragati Maidan is permitted from 9.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
